Wordpress Portfolios
I’ve been trying to get Abby’s Portfolio (still a work in progress) up and running off and on for months and everything I was trying just kept failing. I finally stumbled into this really great, light-weight and easy to implement plugin, aptly named Simple Portfolio. It was pretty easy to get into a template (based on their sample) and adding projects is a snap.

How Jimmy Howard injury caused chain reaction in... →
Look at the stats at the end of this article. The Wings have one of the top 5 goalies in the NHL right now and Howard’s got a lot left in him. After him though, it’s a dramatic drop in quality goaltenders. I really hope the Wings do some trading/drafting to remedy this problem. One thing is certain though, Conklin HAS to go.

About Time
I’m taking another crack at my portfolio site. It’s been about 3 years since my last design. It’s not a good reflection of me anymore. Occasionally I start a redesign and then it gets pushed aside. This time I’ve just got to do it. I’m thinking of a responsive design, with support for category tags and multiple images per project. I’d love to put it in Wordpress...

Victory!
Remember that ridiculous gradient I was talking about the other day? It got changed today, as per my suggestion. It feels good to be heard even if it was the slightest of tweaks. Hopefully I can continue building my reputation and keep the university moving in the right design direction.

iPhone starter kit
I created a welcome kit for new iPhone users (a friend asked for app suggestions, and this is what I came up). I’ve just put together the apps I find most useful and fun. I’m sure I missed a few but hopefully it’s helpful for some:
You’ll want some type of flashlight app. I use one called LED that uses my camera flash and is quite useful. I’m pretty sure any of them...

– Andrew Sullivan: How Obama’s Long Game Will Outsmart His Critics
He lays out exactly what I’ve been trying to say for a long time, in a better way than I could have ever said it. Very much worth a read - even if you disagree, because it will force you to THINK A LITTLE to defend your own POV.
