Interview with Michigan's Governor →
roblr: What?! Why have I not read this before? And what? Michigan and Design? Hmm. Interesting. I’m still not going to stay here but it’s great to see some support for design. I do have to say I’m disappointed that when listing creative schools in MI she didn’t mention WMU. I understand CCS and Cranbrook getting shout outs but Kendall? Really?

Nip/Tuck
I started watching Nip/Tuck last night (or technically early this morning, thank you insomnia). It’s rather great. I really enjoy it, good characters, interesting stories and a little medical stuff thrown in for good measure.

Rhode Island 16 year olds can legally be strippers / prostitutes This is ridiculous and somewhat funny. How is this just now being discovered? I wonder how long the loophole has been around.

First Day
Today was my first day on the ship of intern as Abby calls it. It was great. I set up my workspace did a little paperwork and then completed my first assignment: shoot pictures. Thursday will be day two with a client meeting and then I get to work on a logo. It is so awesome they let me just jump right in.

Jonesy Goes to the Movies: Brüno
Brüno is like a gayer Borat with more of a plot and less of a shock. Don’t get me wrong, I laughed, but Bruno seemed to have an ever so familiar feeling to it. Of course this is the same guy who brought us Borat and who could blame the guy for trying what worked so well last time again. It was enjoyable but not to the same level of Boarat. I think you can never reproduce the shock Borat...

Jonesy Goes to the Movies: Harry Potter and the...
Disclaimer: I have never read any of the Harry Potter books. One time I started to read the first one but after 3 chapters I stopped. I’m just not big on books. I just wanted to let everyone know why I don’t compare the movie to the book. Now onto the review. I’ve seen all of the Harry Potter movies and have generally enjoyed them. I’ve never found them to be “the...

I'm currently in love with Murphy Brown.
I am so happy Big Lots! had Murphy Brown season one for three bucks, yes that’s right, three bucks! I’ve really been enjoying it too, I even vaguely remember parts of it from back in the day. They just don’t make sitcoms like this anymore.

I'm an intern!
I got the internship at Myrick Design in Kzoo. I also had a pretty decent phone interview with that Cleveland place yesterday. Maybe the job situation is improving? We’ll see. I’m excited for the internship but worried about the whole homeless thing.

The Job that is Job Searching
I’ve managed to get a phone interview on Thursday and I sent out messages to a couple west coast contacts I received from Trish… and I’ll soon find out about that internship from last week’s interview. I hope something pans out so I can have direction in my life again, or at least know where I should be focusing my apartment search.

Leopard Quick Look for Illustrator Files →
Finally found a plugin to enable Quick Look to view Illustrator files. The only catch is you need to save them as PDF compatible, which is the default and I’ve always done so hopefully you have too. Just follow the instructions and enjoy. It took a restart for me to get it going.

Jonesy Goes to the Movies: Public Enemies
Let me start by saying Johnny Depp is my favorite actor. Some would even say I border on the edge of a man-crush. So it was no surprise I was excited to see Public Enemies. Despite a fairly low rotten tomatoes rating, I was confident I would enjoy Johnny Depp as a ganster. I mean come on, Depp, gansters, great right? No. Unfortunately despite Depp’s best attempt, this movie was not great....

Jonesy Goes to the Movies: The Hangover
The Hangover has become “the breakout summer hit” according to most sources and I’m here to tell you that’s true. This is a movie that wasn’t really publicized much leading up to it’s release. I think I only heard of it a few weeks before it came out and I keep up on movie news. Basically this is just a great movie for some ridiculous fun and laughs. The movie...
