Apple to manufacture Mac line in the US

NBC News: In an interview with Brian Williams airing tonight on “Rock Center,” Apple CEO Tim Cook says one of the existing Mac lines will be manufactured exclusively in the US next year.

Cook says he believes it’s important to bring more jobs to the US. “We’ve been working for years on doing more and more in the US,” he says.

Cool. I hope that doesn’t mean a price increase, they already make a good profit on all of their stuff, I’m sure they could “take one for the team” on this.

I just hope they don’t water them down like all the iOS stuff. I’m a power user on my Mac. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, but if they take away my powerful OS in favor of something more watered down I’d be pissed.

Light Peak
