(Free) - The Unarchiver is a small and easy to use program that can unarchive many different kinds of archive files. It will open common formats such as Zip, RAR, 7-zip, Tar, Gzip and Bzip2. It will also open many older formats, such as StuffIt, DiskDoubler, LZH, ARJ and ARC. It will even open other kinds of files, like ISO and BIN disc images, some Windows .EXE installers. The list is actually much longer - see the program homepage for the full list.
The Unarchiver also tries to detect and correctly handle the filename encoding in the archives it opens, allowing you to open files from every part of the world without getting garbled filenames.
The Unarchiver aims to be the only unarchiving program you will ever need, and to stay out of your way.
This has been one of my favorite apps for many years now. I consider it essential and it’s part of the “starter pack” I give to friends. I used to manage computer labs back in college and this would get put on every single computer we had. If you don’t already have this, you need to click through and download it now.
Hover.com partnered with us to offer you 500 Sparrow. That’s right, 500!
To enter the contest and get a chance to win 1 of the 500 licensed versions of Sparrow for Mac, just go to the MacAppStorm contest page.

This is my favorite mail client. They’ve done an excellent job on it and it’s one of the few Apps I’ve actually sprung for the full version. It’s just great, so go enter.
My favorite is the blue screen of death on the PC icon. These are really awesome and the kind of stuff I wish I could do.
Now that’s cool. I’m not sure it would come in the next iteration but it could be really awesome.
Maybe they haven’t completely forgotten about the Mac. It seems like iOS devices have been such a disctraction to Apple the last couple years, I’d really love to see some great stuff for Macs again. I just hope they don’t water them down like all the iOS stuff. I’m a power user on my Mac. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, but if they take away my powerful OS in favor of something more watered down I’d be pissed.
This has to be one of the best mail apps I’ve ever used. It finally takes away all that crap you don’t actually need and lets you just get to your emails. Right now it works with just Gmail but more is on the way. Check it out, I really enjoy it. Especially nice if you have multiple Gmails and hate having to log in and out all the time in your browser.
This is a really slick little program and great way to always have access to your most important stuff. If you join from this like we both get a bonus 250mb of space.
